Development Programme and Project

NEST intends to positively contribute to the development of Nepal for many years to come and to do so particularly within the field of its expertise. NEST as a development organization is powered by the belief that skill is basic for livelihood, skill can challenge poverty and a better world is possible through the transfer of skill. NEST is fully committed to improve livelihood and social justice through natural resources management, community development, capacity enhancement, research and advocacy. NEST has been contributing practically to make Nepal a better place to live in peace with dignity. From the beginning of its establishment in 2003, NEST has been working for the benefits of women, poor, disadvantaged groups and remoteness communities.

NEST has been developing and designing programs and projects to ensure that United Nation’s SDGs (by 2030) investments and achievements to date are capitalized, institutionalized, and but not reversed. NEST is directly supporting the improvements of targeted beneficiaries’ livelihoods, contributing to the Government of Nepal’s agenda for the economic prosperity and happiness of citizen. For this, NEST has been working in partnership approach with state and non-state actors, national and international development partners, private sectors, and CSOs for optimum use of scarce resources from different collaborative actors and mobilize its own resources for the benefits of target beneficiaries.

In recent years, NEST has been implementing a number of development programs and projects related to socio-economic improvements. With the financial and technical assistance of Government of Nepal Cottage and Small Industry Office (CSIO) Kaski, NEST implemented Micro-Enterprise Development for Poverty Alleviation (MEDPA) program. Similarly, with the funding support of Kadoorie Agricultural Aid Association (KAAA) Pokhara a project of British Gorkha Nepal (BGN), NEST conducted a number of Kitchen Gardening and Improved Cooking Stove training. Additionally, with the collaboration of Asaman -Nepal / Welt hunger hilfe (WHH), research and consultancy services provided to Asaman - Nepal.
